Where is Hostal Gran Sol?
At Carrer Figueres, 4, 17490 Llançà (Girona, Spain), in the “vila”, the old town of the village. Llançà is on the northern Costa Brava, in the Alt Empordà, between Cap de Creus and the French border.
How much is a night?
A double room is €60 per night + tourist tax and a single room €49 + tourist tax. Breakfast is extra: €6 per person.
Does the hostal have a restaurant? Can I have lunch or dinner there?
No. Hostal Gran Sol no longer has a restaurant: we don’t serve lunch or dinner, only breakfast. There are plenty of restaurants a few minutes away in the old town and at the harbour.
Is there a lift?
No, the hostal has no lift. If you have reduced mobility or difficulty with stairs, please call us on +34 972 38 01 51 before booking and we’ll explain.
How far is the beach?
Platja del Port and La Farella are about 1.7 km away, roughly 20 minutes on foot or 5 by car. Grifeu, a fine-sand beach, is about 3 km away.
Is there parking?
Yes. The hostal has its own private car park, free for guests.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, pets are welcome. Llançà also has a dog beach, Platja de Sant Jordi.
Is breakfast included?
No, breakfast costs €6 per person and is served from 8:00 to 10:00. It’s the only meal we serve.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 12:00 to 19:00 and check-out from 8:00 to 11:00. If you’ll arrive after 19:00, let us know.
What kind of rooms do you have?
We have double rooms, with one double bed or two singles, and single rooms. All have a private bathroom and include bed linen and towels; some have a balcony.
Do the rooms have air conditioning?
No. The rooms don’t have air conditioning, but we have fans for hot days. In winter there’s heating.
Do you have baby cots?
Yes, we have baby cots. Just ask when you book.
Can I store my bike?
Yes. We have a free garage for bikes.
Is it a good place for hikers and cyclists?
Yes, especially if you’re passing through. Llançà is the end of the Portbou–Llançà stage of the GR 92 and the start of the stage to Cadaqués. We have a free bike garage, breakfast from 8:00, check-in from 12:00, and the railway station about 10 minutes' walk away.
Is there wifi?
Yes, wifi is free.
Can I pay by card?
Yes, we accept cash and card.
How do I get there by train?
Llançà has a station on the Rodalies R11 line (Barcelona – Girona – Figueres – Portbou). From the station it’s about 10 minutes on foot to the hostal.
How do I get there by car?
Take the AP-7 motorway to Figueres, then the N-260 towards Llançà and Portbou, about 25 minutes from Figueres. The hostal has its own car park.
Which is the nearest airport?
Girona–Costa Brava, about 75 km away. Perpignan is about 80 km and Barcelona about 170 km.
Is it a good base for Cap de Creus, Cadaqués or the Dalí Museum?
Yes. Sant Pere de Rodes Monastery is about 13 km away, Cadaqués about 40 minutes by car, and the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres about 25 minutes by car or 20 by train.
